April 21 & 22, 2026
• Herff Jones representatives will be on campus during all lunches to deliver previously ordered caps and 
gowns. If you haven’t ordered one yet, you can pay in cash. The cost is about $120, I think.
May 1, 2026
• Decision Day – the deadline to sign up is 4/17. Use the QR Codes around campus to sign up.
May 5, 2026
• Awards night @ 6:30PM in the theatre. Students will receive an invitation if being recognized.
May 12, 2026
• Herff Jones will be on campus during all lunches to make their final delivery of caps and gowns.

Wednesday, May 20th Senior Make-up Exams (8:05am)
*Senior Intensives start on Tuesday, May 19
th (3:30PM) and conclude on Sunday, May 24th so grades can be finalized and 
posted to transcript.
ALL GRADUATION PRACTICES ARE MANDATORY
Graduation attire: Dress (any color) must be above the hem, below the collar, and sleeves are not longer than the gown 
sleeves, black flat shoes, or sandals with a heel strap (formal – must be flat or wedge). Shoes cannot have rhinestones, 
large embellishments. Students will be expected to stand for a lengthy period of time on concrete before the ceremony. 
They can always have their “cute shoes” in the car for after the ceremony.
OR
Light color button-down shirt (preferably white), dark tie, black pants, and formal black shoes. NO TENNIS SHOES OR 
BOOTS, FLIP FLOPS, CROCS, OR SLIDES. If you are not appropriately dressed, you cannot participate in the graduation 
ceremony. 
GRADUATION CAPS CANNOT BE DECORATED. Only RCPS issued stoles, and honor cords may be worn.
Friday, May 22, 2026
• Graduation rehearsal @ HHS at 8:30AM. Bring your gown for a group picture. Attendance will be taken. We will 
finish around 11:00AM. Students will be notified of Honor status and Honor stoles can be purchased after 
rehearsal. Dr. Washington will be accepting cash for the stoles ($35).
• Honor status is determined after all grades have been posted. Cum Laude (Honors): minimum 3.5 GPA,
weighted, Magna Cum Laude (High Honors): minimum 3.7 GPA, weighted, Summa Cum Laude (Highest 
Honors): overall GPA of at least 3.9 weighted.
• Senior Walk – will take place after rehearsal (11:10am)
Tuesday, May 26, 2026
• Report to school at 8:00AM SHARP! You must take the bus to AND from New Birth. You will be assigned to a 
specific bus. Graduates may NOT drive to practice. Attendance will be taken.
• Graduation tickets will be distributed AFTER we return to HHS.
Friday, May 29, 2026, GRADUATION WILL BEGIN PROMPTLY AT 9:30AM.
• Graduates arrive at New Birth @ 8:00AM. Transportation WILL NOT be provided. You will need to park or get 
dropped off at the Chapel of the church.
• There will not be anywhere to store extra items, so do not bring them. This includes purses, phones, etc.
• Doors open for ticket holders at 8:30AM.
• Balloons, large signs/banners, and noisemakers are prohibited.
• All guests ages 0-200 must have a ticket to enter.
• Diploma Retrieval will be on June 1
st from 9:00AM – 11:00AM in the bus lane. Do not come into the school to 
retrieve your diploma. If you miss the pick-up day, diplomas can be picked up in the counseling office
