Pre-Kindergarten Program
Georgia's Pre-K Program is designed to provide Georgia's 4-year-old children with high-quality preschool experiences. The goal of every Pre-K classroom is to provide our preschoolers with the learning experiences they need to prepare for kindergarten.
Rockdale County Pre-K programs are successfully preparing children for school by providing an opportunity for them to develop school readiness skills in an environment that encourages them to have fun while learning.
Research shows that children who attended prekindergarten had higher academic and social ratings by their kindergarten teachers and better kindergarten attendance than children who did not attend preschool programs. Participation in a preschool program also helps children develop social and pre-academic skills that will help them succeed throughout kindergarten and their educational experiences.
Rockdale County Public Schools currently provides Georgia Pre-K classes at all RCPS elementary schools.
Each of these classes can serve a maximum of
22 students.
